Babies, Iron Flag, The W and Ya'll Been Warned are great tracks. Uzi is dope, Radioactive is sick, Dashing is nice. if you take the best tracks on here and put them with the best tracks of The W, you'll probably have the third classic Wu-Tang album.

STAY TUNED.
Well, it doesnt matter because you're "done with Wu Tang as a group anyway after 36 Chambers, but they're still in" your "top five best rap groups ever"......

STAY TUNED.
Iron Flag dropped sixteen years ago today. Still not a fan of it, but it had it's moments..
Love this album. A classic to me
I'd vote average. 5/10

I'm reading an old french magazine from 2001. First time I see Iron Flag named like this.
Crazy to see Iron Flag getting as much hate as it gets while at the same time The W & 8 Diagrams get praised like they're classics. For me there's clear issues with all of the albums post 36 chambers, and it grew with each release. Even Wu Tang Forever suffered from it. By that I mean: more solo / duet tracks, more reliance on big names and singers where Tekitha or Blue Raspberry could've done most of that, less time in the studio together which is obvious in some of the songs and how thematically and energetically the vocals do not match, but the most obvious one is of course the beat selection, mixing and just production in general. This doesn't even take into account they had all their struggles and beefs, leading to certain members being almost completely absent while others dominate the album to the point where it's almost an album from a sub-group with other Wu members as features (a la Wu Massacre).
For me this album is 3rd best of all-time behind 36 chambers and Wu Tang Forever. It has 7 dope ass tracks in:
- In the Hood
- Rules
- One of these Days
- Y'all been Warned
- Babies
- Back in the Game
- Iron Flag
Then Dashing and Radioactive are actually solid lyrically and flow wise, but the production for the latter and the chorus for the former are highly questionable and take both tracks from a 8 to a 6/7. Uzi is not my forte since the flows are all over the place, but I like what they intended to do beat wise and I appreciate switching things up so that makes it listenable. The only 3 tracks that are shit to just hot garbage are Chrome Wheels, Soul Power and Da Glock, which I'm not even sure WTF is going on and is clear to me was just a dumb ass experiment with those voices and what not. 8 or 9/13 tracks being in rotation for me might be the highest percentage wise of any Wu-Tang Clan group album.
Solid 8/10 album for me.
Retroactively looking at Iron Flag, it has not aged as well as W and Eight Diagrams, the weaker songs on W and Eight Diagrams got better as time has gone by, but the wack songs on Iron Flag are still wack..
