Black Sheep - Non Fiction

'A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing' is one of my favorite albums of all time, top ten definitely. Their second album didn't do as well commercially or critically and for years this put me off the joint, but I just recently copped it and started banging it and its really good! Its not as good as 'A Wolf...' but its not that far off and thats a huge compliment. The beats throughout are great and aren't too different from their first album (lots of sly basslines, punchy horns) and Dres is pretty much the smartest and funniest mouth in Hip Hop. Mr Lawnge shares more of the rhyming duties but thats not so much of a bad thing, its a good contrast of styles. I think it was one of those albums that got looked over unfortunately in 1994 just because they were out of the spotlight so long and a lot of classics dropped besides theirs (IMO its classic) that year. I mean all the songs are good, but some of them like 'City Lights', 'Summa The Time', 'Get Cozy' shoulda been bona fide anthems!

What do you guys think? Has anyone heard it? I'm curious how many people even own this album, cause it took me so long.

I haven't heard this yet but been thinking about buying it after i got into "A Wolf...", i read that Salaam Remi produced the whole thing (w/ Black Sheep) and it has features from Showbiz and AG.

Have you heard their 2006 album also, it's called something like "8WN" or some weird shit.

I heard a couple tracks, but it was download only which never fails to put me off. I feel like I want a physical object rather than a code of zeroes and ones that I'd probably end up deleting by accident. The stuff I heard sounded good though, so I'll get to it eventually.

Non Fiction is pretty good. My favorite joints are Autobiography, B.B.S., We Boys, Without A Doubt. Dres talked about the reason why Black Sheep broke up after Non Fiction on VH1's 100 Greatest Hip Hop Songs. He said the group had to file for bankruptcy and that's why they broke up. I heard 8WM/Novakane album and it sucks because of the beats. Dres raps on it by himself and i don't know why he's trying to keep the Black Sheep name alive when Mista Lawnge isn't on the album LOL. The album should've been a Dres solo album. Have ya'll heard Dres's solo album Sure Shot Redemption? It's terrible because of the beats.
