i never even heard of the book until the movie was about to come out. so i dont think it really has any bearing. you are honestly the first person ive seen that has had that opinion.

it wasnt a straight out action movie. if thats all you were looking for you would be disappointed.

The earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and in triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.

People are too stupid to effectively conspire to do anything, but not too stupid to come up with conspiracy theories.

ya i guess i expected like a cross between xmen and 300 movie,

i love the xmen movies so i guess i thought it was going to go in that direction.

I've read some of the movie critic reviews and their all not that impressed with it either.

I was trying to find a reliable torrent to download before i saw it but i couldn't

^^^ebert gave it 4 stars/4, and he's about the most reliable critic i know of, at least in my opinion

dusk, my issue with the fights, specifically the fight scene in the alley and in the jail, was that they were fighting like kung-fu superheroes, like they smiled at each other before fighting, in the book they were nervous, plus laurie stabbed dude in the neck, they didn't kill anybody. i did think the fight at the beggining juxtaposed with 'unforgettable' was genius though.

i thought it was weird that silk spectre didn't smoke, since she smokes in almost all her scenes in the novel, and the story does lose something without all the side characters and nuances like the kid reading the comic and the newsman, the psychiatrist coming home to his wife, and the main area where i felt they dropped the ball was not giving ozymndias a proper flashback, where it shows him travelling the world, eating hash and all that.

none of alan moore's work (Except for maybe the work for hire Image stuff he did on spawn and wildc.a.t.s) is really filmable. he utilizes the capabilities of comics/prose to their fullest extent, so his main works can never be fully adapted to another medium.

I think my IQ dropped after seeing this movie. I would rather watch a wall for 3 hours then see this again. I can't wait till May, good movies coming out then.
funny u said this, because i happen to think this movie went way the fuck over peoples heads..in terms of historical references and the allegorical nature of the story....especially those who havent read the gfc novel..so if ur IQ is low...that might be y you think:

i was going to say something like this, but the way i was writing it made me seem like a dick. so im glad someone said it with some eloquence.

the parts you are describing are ones i really appreciated. especially being a fan of history in general. i think it was honestly beautifully done over all. not just how visually appealing it was, but also just the story and over all message i got from the movie.

I must be stupid then if i don't share your opinions on this movie dusk. thanks for enlightening me.
I understood the story line and the historic referrences, It just took way to long to explain it and there was alot in this movie i thought that didn't need to be there.

    he's 6
    he wanted another iron man.
he thought it would have more superheroish moments but he liked dark night which had just as many as watchmen maybe less.
