I hadn't heard The Pillage prior to the clan's NYC Hammerstein Ballroom show. Trife came out first to Biscuits, Street to Run 4 Cover (I think) and then Cappa to a sick beat I ain't ever heard before. I remember also that being the moment I first sparked my L at the show, so seeing Cap come out to that beat all pumped n shit really stuck with me. About two weeks last I saw Pillage for sale at Tower records downtown, copped it and found out the track Cappa came out to was Milk the Cow, now one of my fave tracks. The album is good, has some weak spots. I'd prob give it a 7.5

    shit this is a classic
his lyrics are ill but make the least sense of all the wu members, and thats sayin sumthin
    sample:
    "Outfits forever
New Cappadonna, blue is my quaintness
I'm a maintenance in this rap shit, politics
Spit the graphic mix it up nice spent
Twist me in the city, elegance walk
My style Don Hard Juan, Passenger 57
in Jackson 10, A Soldier and a Gentleman
    Calm and hyper, deadly spokesperson
Smooth like a tiger, inquiring minds
design arts and crafts, used to play the field
on the rap, drafted the devil
    Bass and treble, worldwide baritone
Judge wise on the throne, wild like sober lyrics
    splash out my dome, uncontrollable
Staten Island untold feel it across the globe
I expand, Cappa the man, head low
Eyes red like a Wu suit, do it right Sixty
My stee' mary alley, follow my lead
not my language it's dangerous, pitbull fightin
a war, hardcore C-4 with the words kid
Better branches, turn your head twice
One life, still gettin it right, then yo"

    smooth like a tiger?????????
that shit dont make no sense but the album is dope
i kinda wish cappa was still down with the wu, cos i miss his mush mouthed vocals and random lyrics
any1 thinkin of coppin this dont need to think
if youve never heard: slang editorial, pillage, oh-donna, black boy etc
you need to cop this its a classic
someone will probably violently disagree but i think it has a similar musical and emotional vibe to 'supreme clientele'
    not as good tho
IMO its behind wu solo shit like OB4CL, Ironman etc
but it kicks that shit out of meth lps, ghosts 'bulletproof....' and 'pretty toney'
and several other solo wu shits
    word
    i listen to this alot

I bought the album when it was released, but I can only remember Run and Young Hearts. Of course, Young Hearts feat. Blue Raspberry was my favorite track.

I will give The Pillage 9/10 (Wu classic), courtesy of incredible beats and dope lyrics. The weaker point of the album is fact, that Cappa is often outshined by other Wu members. The best joints on here are: Black Boy (I love Tekitha's voice), Blood On Blood War (sick beat), Dart Throwing (Rae & Meth destroy it), Milk The Cow (yeah, Wu-Tang, death before dishonor), Young Hearts & Everything Is Everything

Get that album kid.....one of the dopest Wu solos that came out. Personally the Pillage is a classic....but its not a classic album to many. Its definately a banger though.
