And in Cali right now you can't get arrested unless you're carrying more than one ounce, anything less and you just get some citation which comes with minimal fines. Weeds is basically legal here, all you have to do to get a prescription is say your stressed and your head hurts.

    Here's my formula:

As a pound has 448 grams in it and a gram is enough for a cigarette (joints sound less legit)
So people could buy in the same measurements they're used to.

    A "Single" Cigarette
    A "Pack" of 28 Cigarettes
    A "Carton" of 448 Cigarettes

    This would be standard procedure.

As a person would theoretically smoke a joint proportionate to a pack of cigarettes ie. 1 joint a day-1 pack a day, two joints is like two packs ect.

So a reasonable price for a legal joint would be about the same as a pack of cigarettes or a half decent cigar.

So a single gram joint would cost you about two dollars which is a far shot from the bullshit 15+ dollars you could be forking out for one in the state of illegality.

    So this leads to:

    A "Single" Cigarette: $2.00
    A "Pack" of 28 Cigarettes: $50.00 (saving 6 bucks)
    A "Carton" of 448 Cigarettes: $700.00 (saving 196 bills)

So a pound of weed could be purchased for 700 bucks... Awesome?

Government takes an obscene 20% but factored in that's 160: 40 cents a ciggie.

At the pound (a good years worth) they get 140 bucks which multiplied by the number of smokers (everybody) is a lot of cream for the gov.

So they take their 140 bucks and spend 10% of that on anti drug, 40% on education, and 50% on paying state employees.

I think that would be legit use.

actually not bad. obvi we both know it would be a bit more complicated but thats a good framework.
The earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and in triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.

People are too stupid to effectively conspire to do anything, but not too stupid to come up with conspiracy theories.

Since right after the prohibition days of alcohol in the 20's where I live the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) has a monopoly on selling liquor in the province. There were talks of privatizing it but the province isn't letting go of $1.2 billion in profit. Its a pain in the fuckin ass buying overpriced liquor but like said already in this thread all about that money.

If they tried to suddenly do this in any US state it would be total chaos and riots everywhere but I guess after a few generations of dealing with this its just that way.

im talking about booze suddenly being controlled by the state. maybe not riots..could be but there would be a lot of angry people who need to buy beer for over $30 for a case.

Its almost a parallel case of trying to get an extra billion of annual income but with the lcbo has been dependent of it on years

I doubt that Uncle Sam is going to regulate it like hard liquor.

Its probably gonna be soft alcohol for all intents and purposes. Age 21 to purchase, Illegal when driving, prohibited in public, you can grow your own (like beer can be home brewed but whiskey can't.)

I could be wrong, but that's the most sensible way to do it (which means nothing for the government that made it illegal...)
