In addition to the garbage its also important to note that its much harder for even a very very good album to reach classic status anyway due to the structure of hip hop. Even if an album is exceptionally put together and has all the ingredients, it still faces the challenge of actually making an impact. Making an impact is actually very hard nowadays as the methods used to make an impact in themselves often lead to a fall in the level of the other variables required for classic status.

An emcee who sets out to make a good album must find himself a label with good distribution and these labels usually require some kind of compromise on the 2-3 tracks to be put out as marketing. The majority of artists loose out there. On the independent scene, labels are now notoriously commercialised in themselves. They don't make tracks like 'In da club' etc but they make outwardly gangster or underground tracks to try and attract the people bored of girl talk. These types of tracks, like the mainstream tracks, have a nice sound to them put are lacking substance. This again puts the artist in a bad position. Now if an artist is to escape the pressures of the above then he must set able to find the perfect situation and actually be clever enough as a business man and not just an emcee. Not everyone is an Immortal Technique or Cormega (and even they would struggle to have albums that could be called a classic as time goes on) so its not a common thing, especially at the moment.

It is for these reasons that I laugh at the amount of 'classic' around today. Most of the good albums never did anything as they never surfaced enough to have an impact and most of the success stories are trash sold to kids. I doubt anything will really be a classic this year, may be a few can reach cult status but a small following is the best I would think.

But the way things are nowadays anything with a hit single and the right producer is automatically classic.
Album hasnt even been released. Chill the hell out by the thinkage of you being right.

this album was shit, simple as....

Gza sounds bored as hell on every track, Muggs beats were wack, like he was trying too hard to make dark grimey old Wu type beats, wack as hell. on paper the album should've been dope, its a dope combination......before they actually got in studio, third world & fat lady sings were dope, and thats the type of shit i was expectin, they just didnt deliver.

i'm sorry to Gza & Muggs, but it was a bullshit album....

have u noticed aswell, the more that the clansmen step away from wu producers, the worse they get ?? i really do think they need Rza to guide them, not neccesarily to produce the whole shit, but to guide & oversee the projects they do.

are you people serious, did you not hear how bored Gza sounded on those tracks ?? i know his style is kinda laid back, but he sound like he really didnt want to be there, he sound shockingly bored, like he'd rather be sat at home watching tv....bored. lyrics were good, dont get it twisted, but he sounded bored shitless.

muggs beats were.....meh, whatever, it sounded like he was trying to hard to make something that had a early wu tang feel and it just wasnt there..

i HAVE heard the album, i do know what i'm talking about, i do have a clue, i've been listeng to wu tang since before people really knew anything about them over here. if u like the album, cool, thats your opinion, personally i dont like it. like i said, the idea of that collabo is brilliant, but it flopped, sorry.

finally to Third World.......what the fuck does my social status have to do with Gza & Muggs making a bullshit album ?? who the fuck are you ??

    peace
