Default New Soul Assassins album with a RZA track

Soul Assassins dropping new album Intermission in June through Gold Dust

Lead by multi-platinum producer DJ Muggs, California's Soul Assassins crew is a movement. With a hand in street apparel, art & graphic design, video production, radio, custom car detailing, and of course, banging ass music, it's no exaggeration to say that these guys have the streets on lock.

With lots brewing on all sides of the clique, Muggs has assembled a smoking hot lineup of crew members and affiliates to showcase the musical wing of the Soul Assassins crew, all over his signature hazy beats that have been behind hits for Cypress Hill, Ice Cube, House of Pain, & more.

Though the crew reps the West Coast to the heart, the album features top contributions from all over the hip-hop landscape. The RZA, La Coka Nostra, Prodigy, M1 of Dead Prez and Alchemest deliver the gritty East Coast boom-bap, Bun-B of UGK delivers the flow that put Port Arthur, Texas on the map, and of course B-Real of Cypress Hill, Xzibit, Evidence, Self Scientific, & Sick Jacken and more hold it down for the West. The album also features bubbling talent including Fashawn, PCP, and Young De, and even the return of Mugg's dark soul / trip-hop project Dust.

With Soul Assassins Radio running on stations across the country, a new line in their successful clothing company dropping this spring, and a 250-page retrospective on the crew in the works, it's safe to say that the Soul Assassins are taking over this year.

wow nice to see a new Soul Assasins chapter, Muggs always deliver (when he's not working with Cypress Hill) so this should be ill.. hopefully it's not just some short intermission with RZA, Rev. Burke and Planet Asia talking or something.

It's the title track of the album. Do you honestly think that is the case?

I loved both Soul Assassins albums. Chapter 2 was ill, because Muggs showed that updating the sound, didn't mean taking away from the substance in itself.

This one should (hopefully) be a continuation of some more much-needed True School Hip-Hop.
