i know what your trying to say but its nothing to do with organisation. gangster movies focus on one or few guys, gang movies focus on more than one group of people.i dont think there is much difference between the two, or even if it matters.
Gangs don't pay off local politicians and police to run their ponzi schemes, and gangs don't protect their arrestees with teams of lawyers, in fact most wouldn't know what one is. Although you can call a gang an "organization" or "organized" their crimes very typically aren't. The difference between organized and disorganized crime is how hard it is to stop each criminal organization. Gangs are brought to their knees every day, it's much harder to stop the mob, although through RICO statutes (something typical gangs don't fall under) and threats of long term jail sentences the law is getting better at disbanding them. Is that clear? Good. Because I'm not arguing with you about this because I'm right.
