I didn't know him personally so I'm not going to judge him.

what about all those people who have faith but are suffering
and how can they have faith in someone they really don't believe
most jesus fanatics really don't believe in jesus - and they don't know that they really don't believe in jesus or god - they think they do - but they really don't - all programmed behavior

what is belief without action?
I've had christians get made at me for working on sunday while they're out shopping in my store why condemn me if your demands for service on sunday has extended beyond the pulpit?
So imo Jesus's message is a great one even if its recycled from some other source. That the message is understood to the point of being reflected in your daily actions is what's most important imo there's a lot (not all, I've run into some great ones) of so-called christians that don't follow the teachings of jesus but rather the rituals of the church.

recorded in the past for the future to get this idea and bring to life this idea
the idea has been brought to life
how does a thief in the night come ?
I believe in things that are actually and physically real are lol...real. WIth that said, when I watched zeigeist and it talked about the sun and the correlation to the idea of Jesus and the fact that all of the stories in the bible about jesus are etched in stone in the pyramids, which were made thousands of years prior to jesus, I can't believe in Jesus the way the BIble portrays him. I think some one wicked yet wise used the "story" of jesus to basically control the people. Same could be said about almost all religions though.
predictions
etched in stone - prophecies
the future
the idea of a supreme being being born among them to lead them out of a state of mental darkness
the stars and position of the sun at the time of birth - predictions
after the prophecy came to past, the enemies of this messiah try to null and void the idea in the people
Good points.
Just because Jesus was etched in stone pyramids does not mean he came to the people in that time period. It could have been a prediction just like other scriptures which mention future prophets to come.
If one did not read those etchings and interpret them for themselves, how could they know the true meaning? What if these zeitgeist people and others are 'wicked men' twisting the meaning of the etchings to mean that a prophet bearing the likeness of Jesus already came?
nah - i'm not calling you a fanatic
i'm saying that too many people who claim to believe in a god the way they say they do, really don't believe in god - they havn't searched or studied or even thought about the belief they have - its just everyday to say that you do believe in god - most never take it beyond that - most really don't believe in god
i'd recommend this book to anyone interested in the historical jesus:
