hip-hop fans listening to wack bands...

Why is it every hip-hop board I've ever looked at including here at WuCultTown, do I see the same bands being gassed up: System of a Down, Slipknot, and Linkin Park?

All 3 bands are horrible. They are to metal what shit like YIN YANG TWINS is to hip-hop. I understand a lot of you on this board are young but we all like Wu so obviously everyone here put themselves on to older (and better) hip-hop then what generally gets played today...how come it seems like very few of you do this for other genres?

Does anyone here like good old fashioned straight up METAL or hard rock?

Where's the love for Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and Pantera and Alice in Chains and Metallica (old stuff) and AC/DC and Tool and Megadeth and Soundgarden and Led Zeppelin and Nirvana and Guns n Roses and Ozzy and Black Sabbath and about a dozen other bands I could name just off the top of my head? WHy do I log in and read about how Linkin Park kicks ass?

Most of those bands, specially Tool, Nirvana, Soundgarden, AC/DC etc. are kick ass and no one these days is touching them. Well I made the topic specifically with rock and metal in mind, so...

Yeah I know this is a new board but I came on the other day and those 3 bands all had threads dedicated to them near the top and I thought, uh uh, I ain't having this. But its the same with a lot of rap fans everywhere on and off line. If they listen to any rock at all, its wack nu-metal or rap metal or what ever you want to call it. Then you got people who will show love to Rage Against the Machine or Sublime-both bands that I like, don't get me wrong, but they're also considered "safe" bands for a hip-hop head (read: WIGGER in many cases) to like. Very few of us rap fans it seems really appreciate the good old fashioned nasty balls out stuff.

Funny story the other day at the store I work at the truck crew was shorthanded so I was helping unload and brought my CD book with me. And I was throwing on Priest and Maiden and this new kid there, typical wigger (oversized nightgown in place of a shirt, forced accent, obsessed with Dipset, and 90 lbs with a brick in his pocket) was actually liking it and kept asking me who the guitarists were. I thought damn maybe theres hope for some of these stupid kids after all. So I asked him you liking this shit huh?

So he tells me yeah cause he makes his own beats and wants to sample this stuff for his dope rhymes. His words, not mine. I just gave him an evil eye after that and told him never to speak about music to me again. Then I made him sweep the loading dock. Sad shit.
