    Default WTC Book Club.

General chat and the site in general have been boring me a bit likely.

I think someone came up with this idea ages ago, and it didn't work.

Probably won't work now either, but i'm starting to read novels again, and figured if any of you faggits also read, it might be good to politic about them.

The way it would work is each month, on the first weekend or something, we can chat about last months book/s and select one for the next month.

The first book might be Bret Easton Ellis' 'The Rules of Attraction' because i just started re reading it, but any other suggestions are fine.

If a few people are interested it could be good.

The problems i envision are that most people aren't going to want to go out and buy a book for this purpose solely.

    Get a library card.

Mods, please don't move this to the scriptures forum (if it still exists) because nobody posts there. Ever.

Not a bad idea.....I'll have to go buy the book 'cause the Library still thinks I have 8 of their books... (I swear I returned at least 6 of them..the other two...no idea...)

    Cool.

Suggest something else if you want, a month should be long enough to read more than one book (not everyone would have to read both.)

hmm yeah I was trying to think of a book. The last two books I read were on Mao Zedong and Stalin, both quality books IMO but I decided I didn't want to read about evil ass dictators for a while.....

    Yeah.

I think it's better to just limit this thread to fiction.

Otherwise it might be inundated with people suggesting The Art of War and the like.

I was gonna read Glamorama but maybe I will read The Rules of Attraction instead, because I sooooo want to politic with you about it. First I will have to finish Stange But True: Aliens, though.

Good idea, but i dont think ill be participating, im not that much of a reader. Currently im reading "Cant Stop Wont Stop : A History of the hip-hop generation", its a great read, but the only books i really read are about music or films or that.

The last novel i read was "The Lord of the Rings" when i was 14 and it took me over two years to read, and i still didnt get it anyways near finished, so im not that much of a reader.

    I wouldn't say i'm a 'reader' either.

I haven't read a novel since the middle of last year.

I did read a lot at certain stages before that, but never consistently.

I find a lot of the time i start something and never finish it, hence the thread.

'Rules of Attraction' is a fairly short book, and i think the contents will entertain most people who post here.

Unfortunately books are fucking expensive these days, so it's kind of unrealistic for me to expect people to buy the novels i guess.

But i'd recommend it highly, his books are generally easy to read (bar American Psycho).
