Long ways off. There's talk its being pushed back to spring 2008. I still think it'll be out for the christmas market worldwide, but until there's comfirmation we're gonna be left twiddling our thumbs.
There have been some recent comfirmations though, namely that MGS4 will remain a PS3 exclusive so the optimistic 360 owners will no doubt be a little pissed off.

There might still be some hope. They ported over MGS2 to the Xbox so you never know. Altough, depending on how big the game is, they might not be able to make it happen on the 360 unless they throw it on like 2-3 DVDs or something.

Thats right, he didn't say it in black-and-white terms, but he compared the PS3 and 360 to going to the cinema, and watching a DVD on a shithot home cinema setup. In that the PS3 will deliver the utmost in performance, not to mention that Xbox ports for Metal Gear Solid didn't impress much in sales figures.
Also, the octocam which Snake uses in MGS4 draws a lot of power from the cell processor to make it happen (your suit blends to the background scenery whenever you're stationary).

some kid i know was heading out asking for a ride to the pawn shop.. i was like what for? he said his car broke down so he needed money and was gonna sell his PS3 and 360.

so i ended up coppin his PS3 , 4 controllers, and 4 games.. for only $475. right place at the right time i guess...


and that would be hellah dope if MGS4 dropped this October but i doubt it... would be nice tho!

Metal Gear Solid:GOTP looks so damn good. Has anyone heard of the techniques and moves Snake can do now, this is surely to be another classic.

The game takes place 5-6 years after the Sons Of Liberty incident. The characters involved will be Liquid Ocelot, Naomi Hunter, Colonel Campbell, Otacon, Meryl Silverburgh, and Raiden (might I add as a straight up bad ass Cyborg Ninja) as a kind of Grey Fox too.

Snakes new camoflauge (Octacam) is incredible too and can blend into any surrondings even down to the texture.

As far as the mustache I think it's neat how Kojima keeps up chronologically with the times. Snake can't stay young forever so the mustache is only a must and as a matter of fact I personally think Snake might not make it to the next sequel or barely the end of the game because he only has 6 months to live due to his genetic code.
