U-God always gets props from me. I'm a big fan. I admit Hillside and Mr. Xcitement were wack all but 2-3 tracks (Uey himself seems to want to forget they happend). But, Golden Arm's Redemption and Dopium are classics in my book, vintage Uey. He's 2 for 2 (Some are saying Mr. X is a compilation as well) and if not, 2 for 3.

I don't know why he gets hate. People hated on GAR when it dropped, than 10 years later people love it, and it went Gold. He had the exact same style he'd been establishing for years throughout Clan albums, he's given props there, but not for GAR? Only things GAR lacked, was promotion, and motivation from the producers in a couple cases. To me, Dopium is excellant, because it is a return to his classic GAR form.

I got respect for Uey but there will always be those people that haven't even heard him rap and just assume he sucks because someone else said it.

Yes U-God is underrated, perhaps the most overshadowed member in the clan next to Deck. I definately will have to check out GAR and Dopium.

he isn't a good song maker, or better yet, most of his songs are copies of classic wu songs, some are good, some are not, all the other songs are wack.

he can use his own style all he wants, he isn't as lyrical as Rae or as clever as GZA. That's the problem, when Wu makes the same concepts over and over again, it gets boring.

That's why Rae slang is a win-win situation, and also Ghost, RZA and GZA have a lot of original songs, like Underwater and Domestic Violence and shit like that.

He has some nice feats and can work good in a group...but as solo, there are more than 1000 better emcees, starting with all other wu members.

i think u-god got most of his props for the 'bring back god mixtape'. his style wont appeal to the mainstream cos it aint sugarcoated or made for pop-mawaphuckaz. Uey has always kept shit real..

no lipton, hips, rims pokin out and wu-tang are all ruined cause ugod saying any lame thing that rhymes (wrinkle crinkle jingle bingo), whack choruses or just too many weak pointas in the song. but the rest of the album is good. 7 tracks worth hearing

U-God was always dope, anybody who followed Wu since they arrived on the scene would have mad respect for U-God, only these new heads would hate.
