Default When it comes to lyrics, the compilation Cds of the late 90s were wu's peak

    the swarm
    wu chronicals I
    wu chronicals II

are all displays of wu going at peak levels, i would say lyrically superior to forever.

the problem is there wasn't a wu cd in this era, not if there had been i think i would have been their greatest work. Ghost in cobra clutch mood, Rza in gravediggaz mode, U-god spittin like on 2 da rescue, Donna at his peak, chef at his lyrical peak, method man in his blackout phase, odb in diesel mode.

The W came at the time that this epic surge of god strenff was dying out.
I would push up wu's peak to around 98-99, but there's no wu cd to prove this.

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHH!!!

Oh man this is kinda embarassing

Dude, i should let you know before the thread goes any further, and you say more things, But Wu Chronicles was a COMPILATION of old wu tracks, mostly from mid-90's albums.

Of course i wouldnt expect you to know songs like
    -4th chamber
    -the what
    -wu gambinos
    -cold world
    -latunza hit
    -wake up
    -right back at you
    -semi auto

BArely anything on there was new, the rest was from other artists albums. And most fans at the time had heard all the tracks anyway.

As for vol II, well that came out in 2001, and had a few nice tracks, but was full of nobodies and 2nd raters.

So your left with calling the Swarm album Wu tangs lyrical peak. K buddy.

    the fuck? hmm well.
by the way, have you ever noticed this white noise all over wu chronicles vol.1? like pshhhhhhhhhhh for 70 minutes.... strange...

    dang

ive always wondered why cats like tsa or b.rock or any other cyberhero think they worth something just because they live in usa's shithole and post like crazy on a board...

matter of fact i could see the point in bragging about being from staten or brooklyn and being like 30 something years old.... but theyre not...

anyway, we were talking about the swarm with some friends last week, agreeing on the fact that this comp is dope as fuck, the best wu related compilation ever made. i mean even the guys we didnt know about at the time were spitting like crazy, darkim, holocaust, christbearer, meko, remedy, ruthless bastards and so on...
i regret those times when everyone repping the Wu emblem was a truly gifted MC. there was some quality control at that time and the result is there.
HH journalists in france were hyping wu forever alot when it came out (only to call it subpar few months later, what the fuck......), and then were shitting on the swarm. thats a bad case of writing about something while not listening to it...

also the wu element producers were on some fucking CRACK in this era, man. the wasted oppurtunities.

and the killa bees. shit. this was the era of the killa bee
    true.
but wasted opportunities? like having a Wu-Tang album produced by True Master and 4th Disciple? Yeah maybe. But look, both of them had a lot of shit going on at the same time : two killarmy albums, last shall be first, heavy mental, gravediggaz, heist of the century, tical 2000, the pillage (the pillage has to be the peak of the Wu Elements, RZAs early Bobby Digital stuff was off the hook on it too, and Goldfinghaz did his thing as well) and so on...
to me the wasted opportunities are more like few years later, when they practically retired. then mathematics picked up. he too had some good comps and some tight work. and now, whos there? the lineup on Cilvaringz album is what id like to get as far as Wu production, on any solo album.... seems like he had to harass all of these guys to get some beats, like they dont want it anymore... too bad, im quite sure they still have it.
