I neva heard such a complete album in my life. not one song or skit strays away from the story that Masta Ace put together on this album. This is not a blueprint, but a Universal Architect on how a Concept Album is supposed to sound. One of the Top 3 best Albums of all time in my book.

what can i say about this album..

one of the last albums in recent memory where i gave it one listen, and thought the shit was a classic!!!

"brooklyn masala" might be my favorite ace track ever. walkin up on a shorty, real shit. storytelling and vibe off the charts masta aces skill level gets better the older he gets like barry bonds!!!

ace can drop a record when hes 56 and ill be listening!!! classic album and if you dont own this album or disposable arts cop that!!!

i don't. the suprise factor wasnt as strong on a long hot summer. disposable arts came out of nowhere and knocked me on my ass!!! the vibe is totally different but theyre of equal quality if youre askin me.

a long hot summer isnt as dark, if you on xanax already start with a long hot summer!!!!

You can say any independent release is underrated if its actually good. I remember when that album dropped, it was of course hard to find the album in the stores but on this site is was highly praised. I still remember the old admin rocking that album in his sig as the top album of 2004.

Disposable Arts is better by a fair margin.

Better beats, better song concepts, and Beautiful on this is overrated.

A Long Hot Summer is still one of my favourite albums though.

both this and disposable arts are 2 of the dopest albums ever. complete concept albums with dope ass tracks.

as for being slept on, at least on an underground level, it wasnt. when it came out it was on every top list of best album.

i love soda and soap, dude spit a whole fuckin story about going to a strip club using all types of soda names. fuckin shit man.

not only did the whole album have a concept but every song did too. so complete i know i keep repeating myself but its just on a level few albums touch.

one thing thats great about ace is even though he has dope lines hes one of the few rappers who seems to be more about the great verse than just the great line. he has quotables for days, sure, but it seems more about fitting it all together in a great verse which makes him so great.
