"We accept tires" - Cappadonna
^lol i feel the same way
i made the mistake of driving to that song once, i almost killed a whole family lmao
I won't front. This album was bananas when it came out but since his track record has been so pathetic since, when i listen to it now it just doesn't have the same vibe.
well thats too bad because al pacino and deniro be doing some straight bullshit these days, and i still love their classics all the same!!!!
niggas wanna hate on dmx discography now!? longevity wasnt there, but you cant tell me his first 3 albums werent banging!!!
add the fact he dropped flesh of my flesh the same yr its a legendary run i wont forget!!!
and not to get off topic too much, but grand champ and his last album had some joints on the humble.
I remember when this album came out, its like he just came outta nowhere.
A listened to some hip-hop during 92-97 when I when I first started getting into music with some rock and other stuff. In 98 is when I got my first real job so I could afford to buy 2 CDs a week so this album was playing daily. That was the year that hip-hop started having more than 1 CD bin in the record store and wasnt hidden at the back.
X has actually been around since early 90's, born loser came out 92 i think, and he was in the source in 91. slow breaker. but yeah no one outside new york knew. kinda strange he didnt come out till 98.
LOL@Angry saying his 2nd and 3rd albums are good hahahahahahahaha. None of DMX's albums are good LOL. His first album has some hard joints but i wouldn't say it's a classic. Ruff Ryders Anthem, Fuckin With D, Get At Me Dog, Stop Being Greedy, ATF and the song that comes after How's It Going Down is hard. What's the name of the song that comes after How's It Going Down? LOL@DMX makes me laugh when he barks like a dog hahahahahahahahahaha. A friend of mine has some old unreleased songs by DMX before he signed with Def Jam. I wanna get those songs from him. I remember seeing a old picture of him in The Source magazine before he got a record deal. So i know that he was doing music before he came out in 1998.
Crime Story is the song after Hows it Going Down
and no you are wrong his first Album is a certified Hardcore-rap classic.
Classic shit.
The only DMX album I could have no regrets in purchasing. All the others are missing that special something that IDAHIH has.
Wack as fuck.
Got ya bitches.
Damien, Intro, Ruff Ryders(I was like 5 when this single dropped? Had me possessed with criminal thoughts), ATF. Excellent album. Saying it's a classic is debatable.
EDIT:4got bout Stop being greedy
PUNCHLINES By SUN QUAN
"Never trip while in my clique that's why we be steady mobbin"
"You be counting on love as if it's a tennis game."
"I run this town, do I have to slow down to jog your memory?"
Pretty good album, dark and hard as fuck. Shits all over his other albums.
Some of you fools be acting like this AINT one of the best fucking debut albums from any rapper ever. This album is fucking hard. I really don't like Swizz Beatz which is why I don't think FOMF is even remotely close to this album. Dame Grease hit the ball out of the park with the production here.
