It seems that company that sells those black tees (usually the vendors booths in the shopping mall) that have music band symbols on it, Jack Daniels, Thundercats, etc. are selling wu tang ones too with the yellow W like on the 36 chamber album.

I spotted several in the last month, and maybe coming close to as much as the Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon black t-shirts with the prism.

^This. I recently bought another Wu Tang t-shirt. I remember one time I was baked in my buddy's backyard and I turned around and his neighbour was on his roof fixing it and he was wearing a wu-tang hoodie. I laughed so hard and said fuckin awesome cause I did not expect to see a wu-tang hoodie at that moment.

Yeah I've seen about 10 out here...
Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.

i see the generic yellow on black wu symbol, and that abominable odb 'have you seen him' t-shirt...it's just trendy right now, just like run dmc shirts were a few years ago, or the dark side of the moon prism shirts...it doesn't mean people are fans, it's just a 'fashion statement', like the people who'll wear a shirt with marvel zombies or retro spider-man on it but wouldn't ever read a comic...if you're not a teenager, wearing shirts with pictures on them is usually lame.
