    if you want to know the real reason why the 'classic' boom bap sound isn't prevelant in mainstream hip hop anymore, it's because of timbaland. seriously. he single handedly changed the sound of radio on more than one occassion, and helped usher in a new production style with even more layers, more spanish influence on the drums and just a faster tempo altogether. they should build him a statue in puerto rico because without him reggaeton would not even exist. he is that influential. respect timbaland. he's done a lot to push the genre forward.
