Yea I think the older generation is quick to call out people for having it easier than they did with these digital tools, but at the same time that person criticizing either:

A.) Has no idea how complex the software is and how many possibilities it offers when you get under the hood.

B.) Is too lazy and is intimidated by the learning curve.



I think a combination of software/traditional tools & techniques seems like a practical approach.

i mean drawing something like a human figure with pencil from scratch is a million times easier than making a figure from scratch on the PC

I gave up trying to hold intelligent conversations on this forum years ago. If some of you had it your way this place would be converted into an online history or science course, carefully crafted to fit some distorted warped agenda.

socialism is good when organized, but you also need to realize that communism was imported from western europe primarily from england and germany and it just happened to succeed in russia and eastern europe/china/south america.

capitalism based on brute market fundamentalism is greater evil though.

Most traditional graphic designers have animosity towards this new generation that works strictly in the confines of photoshop.

I don't blame them. The old skool required serious man hours just to create something nice.

I don't get how people only use pshop, i mean cs4 is amazing and the possibilites are almost endless but you just cant get the refinement and detail you can say on illustrator.

When i start a project, Illustrator, photshop and flash get opened as a standard.

Usually i design the background in illustrator and do the rest in pshop, i'm talking about website banners and adverts.
