Default Artificial Intelligence ( Ghost in the Shell )

    Ok, so here the idea.

If computers ever become self aware and they start making androids....

Is it still a computer? Or is it a living thing? Should it have legal rights? is it immoral to kill it?

Like what if it goes to work, has a girlfriend, adopts kids or builds it's own etc.....

What if the computer has biological components...like a human body operating with a computer brain? And thus has the ability to have procreate...

or is if the technology progress where androids can give birth.....

    Or

What if somebody gets in a horrible car accident and parts of their body are transplanted into machines, like their heart or brain. This is kind of spinning off of the "Where is the mind located?" thread.

    OR

do you think computers will never reach an intelligence of that magnitude?

    Thoughts?

Personally if computers become self aware, they'd still be just machines to me even if they can have babies.

But then what if they can have sex with humans and produce biological/machine offspring?

I don't believe (or i don't want to believe) that computers(machines) will ever reach that level of self awareness .

    I'll put it this way:

When human become able to create self aware computers that can simulate(or not just simulate) things like love, hatred, emotions, survival needs, that will mean that science has gotten so far that all that is to be discovered is discovered, and yet our life lost any sense.

Why assume that every thing is discovered just because computers become self aware? I think it would just open the door for even greater discoveries.

eaah, i don't know maybe i overexagarated about the part where everything that is to be discovered is going to be discovered, but the point is that if man creates machine that emulates human behavior, for instance some emotions, it will degrade the value of things such as love, hatred, jealousy....

at some extent development of advanced computers, of that type(or artificial intelligence) will(if not already) degrade humans in general. In my opinion

As for the questions WILL computers ever reach that level, i don't know cause i don't know much about technology in general, but i personally hope they never do.

computers are already on that path.

today we have software that can learn on its own then reprogram itself to adapt.
so in that respect, we have created lifeforms that can evolve.

the question i have is that when we are able to plug our minds into a computer, how will you know who's human and who's not?

kinda like i could be a bot. programmed to respond to threads. well not me but maybe CJ.

Where is everyone going to stand when people start falling in love with robots and try and marry them. Should a computer have human rights?

humans are already a type of robot - more high tech robots own other robots

    and some robots own humans

and some wealthy humans buy robots

    Artificial intelligence already exists.

I doubt that this will ever happen.

Then you doubt the very existence of man. People have married animals and inanimate objects before, what makes you think they wouldn't try to marry a robot?
