i think you're talking about the writings of josephus. those references were most likely forged during the christian era. there's ample evidence that the famous one in jesus' family was his brother james. there's a ton of contemporary writings concerning him. style's "ascended master" stuff owes much more to the later gnostic traditions than to any historical figure.

Yes, his name was 'James, the Just'
and they found his tomb, AND his remains.

I guess he's da closest evidence there is to a Yahshua ben Yosef existing since he was his blood brother.

The names Ya'akov and Yeshua are rendered as Jacob and Joshua in the Old Testament because it was translated from Hebrew to English... the same names are later rendered as James and Jesus because the New Testament was translated from Greek to Latin to English.

The best evidence that an historical Jesus existed is actually in the New Testament. Paul's letters were written at a time when there were people around that knew the living Jesus. He's arguing with those people that the Jesus they knew only gave them part of the teaching and that only he is privy to the full teaching via Jesus' ghost. Paul is a lying sack of shit, but he could only get away with his manipulation if there were such a person who had been recently crucified.

I don't think James' remains have ever been found. His ossuary was empty when it was discovered.

    Forged?
Why does the Catholic church forge so many artefacts to prove everything in the bible actually happend...
Sounds a bit like they know it's all BS.

there's no proof Socrates ever existed. the only writings about him come mainly from Plato.

but he's not a religious figure, so we think he probably existed.

Oh god, weve just hit a new low.

You do realise Plato was his student right? Theres no debate over whether he existed, we know what he looked like, he contributed to politics of the day, he also was a controvsial figure.

And he lived 400 years before Jesus.

How can a man said to live around 30 AD be 'made up' by the Council of Nicea (in 325 AD) of a man who lived in 1400 AD (Cesare Borgia)?

Btw, it is highly likely that there is no proof (in the form of documents, grave sites, etc. ) that some of your ancestors existed as well. No proof does not mean they did not exist.
