    Default iPod connectivity issue

this is what my iTunes is saying:

"The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod’s software."

I have reinstalled it at least ten times.

I do not want to lose half the music on my iTunes being that my ex has a lot of it.

Is there any solution to this that does not require me to remove my current iTunes and its catalogue?

    Thanks in advance

Itunes is a really buggy program. It is so useless sometimes.
Your library folder shouldnt be deleted if you reinstall though

you may want to try a new usb connector, there like a buck if you order off amazon. your ipod may also be messed up. if you run out of ideas you may want to try to format the ipod itself but if that fails you will be without music.
