Crass
just noticed someone posting here by the name of Crass, with the band's symbol as his sig.
it reminded me of how different these cats were to anyone else in the industry.
they revolutionised punk music and were responsible for the widespread use of the circle A symbol that is now synonimous with punk culture.
shit, they even gave Bjork her first release on their label, Crass Records, when she was lead vocalist in a band called KUKL.
the artwork on Crass Records was especially noteworthy, being all monochrome and using a combination of collages and painting to create stark, harrowing images with an underlying social and political message.
anyone else here heard of Crass or used to be a fan?

That's part of the point. I never listen to them at length, but the "Yes Sir I will" album has an amazing piano song where Steve Ignorant charms his way out of the speakers.
