It's a decision by the higher ups based on what the government wants, I believe. Move away from gas powered cars to electric by a certain year. Also, Dodge wants to compete with Tesla and the other car makers.
This will kill jobs in the oil industry.

Some of the last existing muscle cars fueled by gasoline will probably will worth a fortune some day soon.

1.5 billion people own a car. The number of cars is rising sharply too. Its horrible for the environment.
I'm going to get a car in the new year, if possible I will try and find an electric car probably used, but realistically a gas car will be way cheaper.
We need to live. Get a gas car. An electric one will cost more to maintain. Buying a used Tesla is risky.

Thanks to Westside Gunn, whenever somebody mentions the word Tesla, I immediately hear the ad lib of him going "skrrrrtttt"
I probably wouldn't get a Tesla unless I came into some money, there are cheaper electrics.
Plus I don't really want to help Elon in any way.
It's funny how he tells everybody to vote republican. Who does he think buys Tesla vehicles? Definitely not conservatives.
