Im at peace with that. He is very easily likable and his humor isnt bad either.

I have no issue with Chris Evans in the role, im sure he will do a fine job and pull it off. It was an odd choice though and I certainly didn't see it coming.

I don't know....
Loyalty is Royalty. Strength and Loyalty
lol i am one of the haters.
10% about the fact he played another superhero in the same universe since, as you said, the movies were disasters.
90% because he's not Rogers.
he's not built like him.
doesn't have an acting bone in his body to give of the persona of him.
isnt even close to having as commanding of a presence as him.
he's not right at all. they should've definitely gotten a no namer.
i dig chris evans, he's a pretty good actor but fuck this.
ben afleck would have been my choice

Looks like Bucky has been cast too.
http://z.about.com/d/comicbooks/1/0/7/S/2149.jpgSebastian Stan, one of the actors who tested for the title role of Marvel’s “Captain America” which ultimately went to Chris Evans, has nabbed the key role of Captain America’s sidekick Bucky Barnes.
In comic book lore, Barnes, a teenaged orphan, was too young to join the army but became one camp’s mascot. When he discovered Captain America’s identity, he joined Captain America as a partner in his Nazi-fighting escapades. The character died in Captain America’s final World War II adventure.
After decades of being “dead,” the character was revived in 2005 and brought back into modern comic continuity, initially as a covert assassin named Winter Soldier.
It is not clear if the movie version of Barnes sets up the Winter Soldier identity. Marvel would only confirm that Stan is playing Barnes.
Insiders also say Stan has signed on for five or six pictures.
Shooting on the Joe Johnston-directed pic starts this summer in Europe.

Who?
WHO?
fuck is that?
Ooh this might actually be good. They went with the world war two styling which are my favorite iteration of his look, and made sure not to tamper with the setting I presume. My only flaw I see so far is that its being released May 6th instead of June 6th (D Day)...
Plus the Red Skull is a sick villain. There's something awesome about SS Uniforms and the red skeletal face smoking a long cigarette monocle and all is scary in that context. I think it would be sick if he was rewritten to have been possessed by a demon in an occult ritual instead of being a mask. Give him some degree of occult powers and make him like a better version of Darth Vader (impossible I know...) The terrifying man-monster who scares the shit out of his own men as much as the allies. The kind of guy you might piss yourself waiting for an audience with. Wearing an unornamented metal venetian bauta style mask during public appearances and claiming "severely disfiguring wounds caused by would be communist assassins." Then linking him to the future Doctor Doom in some way...
