the 'vinyl sim' is an effect on the sp series of samplers, its used a lot by the SPB producers in their beats, has a built in compressor and noise/flutter settings

yeah that is exactly what the effect does actually but it can be used in many diff ways that you can only uncover after putting your hands on one

see i sample off of vinyl and i still use the effect a lot, its not about trying to "turn mp3s into vinyl", its more about the sickness of the compressor and the low end warmth that it adds...its real hard to explain but when you run all the beat tracks thru the box with the effect on the vinyl sim can really smash it all together in this lo fi gritty way, its a dope mixing/recording effect, so i hope you aren't saying like oh its something cats that use mp3s need to sound like vinyl
