its Def Jam, they were going to have to do something somewhat commercial

its a solid song, could have been worse. i dont think the rest of the album will be in the same vein

^i gotta agree. "Back Like That" was the first single that Def Jam released from Fishscale, and there wasn't a single other song on the album that sounded like that. I think the rest of this new album is gonna be much harder (and better) than this first single. Hell, "Back Like That" is one of my least favorite songs on Fishscale and I wouldn't be surprised if "Our Dreams" is my least favorite on this album too.

For a commercial type track this isn't bad at all, it could've been much worse. It's a cool joint to play, but the beat switch is a little awkward. All 3 came correct on the joint.

Didn't like it at first, but it's a grower for me. Has a rawness to it without having to bang in your face with the drums. In the same vein as "Flowers" (original) and Common's "The People" - kinda smooth and awkward sounding loop. (I admit it's not as good as those 2 tracks however)
