WOW! You would rank this with "The Chronic"?
IMO The Chronic is in a whole other league from this album!
    Just my opinion.

yup...I don't think Chronic is as good as everybody claim to be (like The Game) but I still consider it as a classic...the same goes with Jay-Z...

that's how it goes...u gotta respect the classics even if u don't like them

It's a classic album to most it seems. It is his best album ever. He is very popular, so his best effort is gonna be considered a classic. I just think he is very overrated lyricly and bites to much. I try not to let my feelings about him now effect my rating of this album. However, I can't say for sure that they didnt. This album to me is 7/10 8/10 on lyrics, 7/10 on beats. So I can't pesonally call it a classic.

Once again the word classic is being thrown around.

I think this album and Illmatic are in the same category. To me this album is not Jay's best material, he got better after this. I really didn't like Reasonable Doubt.

this is a definitive classic. anybody who says otherwise is really ignorant and hasn't listened to it thoroughly. sadly it's his only classic album because the rest that came afterwards are shit.

some fucking amazing production on the album, although some tracks arent great, but overall really good beat wise.

jay is at his best, good flow and ok lyrically.
