The End of America details the ten steps a country takes when it slides toward fascism. It's not a "lefty"tot tome, rather a historical look at trends in once-functioning democracies from modern history that are being repeated in our country today. It gives any reader (or viewer of the lecture) a much-needed history lesson and constitutional refresher. Most importantly, it puts the recent gradual loss of civil liberties in the U.S. in a historical context. The average American might not be alarmed at AT&T selling our private information to the Bush administration, but when this action is seen as part of a larger series of erosions and events, a pattern emerges with unfortunate consequences that become disturbingly clear.

Plot :
The year 2012 is predicted to be one of great change in cultures spanning the globe. A 26,000 year alignment will occur on the 21 December 2012, will it be the end of the world or the end of time as we know it?

the shit really didn't interest me that much until i saw this

Things could change drastically....... or things could be what they've always been, just updated for the future.

I'm abandoning the classic paradigm shift that the structure of society pushes for when they came up with all their crazy little devices. Financial freedom IS freedom as best as anyone can know in this world. I'm staying on the path I'm on till the situation around me proves its wise to go another route.

I'll check the movie out when the time permits, looks interesting.

People need to relearn the definitions of Fascism, republican and democrate, socialist, liberal...

A true republican in the US is totally against any strong central government.

So to equate them with fascist is utterlly ridiculous because fascism is all about a strong central gov in control of everything.

Are we trending toward that? Well, if we are, its the democrats who are pushing it more than the republicans.

Why so many people are on the democrat dick, in particular woman and minorities and the poor, astonishes me.

Its mostly because people believe what they see on TV and want easily identifiable things with which to easily grasp.

In essence, they dont want to do their homework because they are too lazy.

I myself am more pro states rights, individual freedoms, smaller central government.

The republicans and democrats right now, are basically the same thing, only they have to cater to seperate voting contingents.

Both are overspending, both lie to the people and both have been woefully inadequate entities.

I don't know if I will vote the next election. I don't think either deserve it.

But, yes, I do suppose we are going the 'fascist' route, but fascism is such a generic term. Stalin's USSR was 'communist' but it was indeed fascist..

Socialist and communist governments are in essence 'fascist' in the generic sense of the word.

Any sort of centralized power means bigger bureaucracy. More power to the few, less to the many.

THe U.S. will fight another Civil War sometime. I have no idea when, probably not likely in our lifetimes, but eventually its going to happen again.

ESPECIALLY if the central government is going to force issues upon state which the states do not want.

These lawsuits over the health bill is a small example.

the roles of rep and dem have flipped thru out history. at this point both parties are irrelevant when it comes to representing the will of the people.
