- Could take out technology, but not life. We'd lose modern civilization though.

2.the sun going super nova and dying
-Not even somewhat realistic. 1. Sun isn't big enough to Super Nova 2. It's lifespan is another 4-5 billion years.

3.a blackhole eating the solar system
-Again not even somewhat realistic our sun cannot become one and we'd already know about other black holes near us, they're pretty obvious looking since their mass curves light.

4.global warming
-Again wouldn't destroy life, but would cripple civilization. It's slow acting, we'd have to self impose our destruction.

5.nuclear warfare
-Your first likely idea. However I'm pretty sure the pressure of Mutually Assured Destruction (Economically and Physically) makes anything other then a limited Nuclear War next to impossible. Terrorists or a rogue nation may get one or two off but they're get sucker punched in retaliation so hard it wouldn't be worth it. Our missile defenses are good enough they'd have to launch tons of ICBMs to get anything more then a one shot wonder and they wouldn't do so.

6.biological warfare
- Most likely cause of human near extinction IMO.

7.a meteor impact
- A meteor is a very small object. You mean Asteroid. But yeah it's bound to happen eventually. But I think we'd redirect its course slightly with an emergency system.

8.an unknown planet coming within earths proximity giving of a magnetic force after the earth's axis shifts
-What? No. That's not even a half brained idea.

9.various earthquakes
-Would not wipe out the species... They just make buildings fall. If you're outside they don't do shit. "OMG I feel like the ground moved" that's all that would happen.

10.a second flood
-Would require more water then there is on the planet. We'd need a comet (or a lot of comets) to introduce that kind of water.

11.volcanic eruptions
-If we had a major geologic event it would be like the effects of a full blown nuclear war. But they're unlikely to reach that size. We'll be shit fucked when the Super Volcano at Yellowstone goes balls up. The skies will blacken with Ash across the US and Canada killing all the crops and covering everything with volcanic ash. The whole world will have a temporary (years) drop in temperature until the debris leaves the atmosphere.

1.zombie apocalypse
-I'd argue this is more likely than most of your likely ideas. All it would take is a super rabies bio weapon and we'd have virtual zombie apocalypse. However rabies is long spanned incubation and quick on the crazy part so I'm not sure how large scale it would be unless it was used widely. However it takes months after infection for symptoms to show up, so yeah... its kind of scary.

No, just that some scientists had cooked the numbers. But other scientists are legit and do think it's happening. However they tend not to look at big picture and assume its true.

For example we're in an El Nino currently which is why we've got such weird weather patterns, but that happens every so many years. Then there are the theories that the world was going into cooling just 30 odd years ago. So its impossible to say what will happen there are too many factors. Odds are Yes we're fucking up the environment, however we're probably not significantly altering the climate. That's my stance. Clean up the environment because its the right thing to do, not because of some fear mongering by the left wing radicals.
