Default Lou Reed and/or David Bowie Fans, Assistance Required

I've got the whole VUG discography (apart from all the live stuff), as well as 'Transformer'.

    And I've got 'Ziggy Stardust...'.

What else do I need and please tell me a little bit about these albums I need?

this is his last really coked up, pro fascism album as the thin white duke...title track is my fav. bowie song.

this is his folkiest album, very good, showcases his great songwriting talents

    now..the berlin trilogy

very sick album, so cold and sharp, but also dense and brilliant. began the trilogy of music co authored with eno, and has some good instrumental tracks (especially Speed of Life)

perhaps the strongest of the 3 albums, def. the most popular and not for bad reasons..title track is legend...and Blackout, Joe the Lion..etc, great album

another good album, a little more Talking Heads-ish, far as funky rhythms and things...Look Back in Anger is the best track..

ill be back later to talk about Diamond Dogs...

No Lou Reed fans then? Pity, I'm actually more interested in him than Bowie lolz.

Cheers for the recommendations though. This should help me to further explore the music of Mr Bowie.

lolz. I'll have to research him a bit more and see which albums are worth getting. It is my understanding that his style of music differs vastly from album to album, so no doubt he is very hit and miss. VUG were great though, and there's some awesome tracks on 'Transformer'.

agreed..everything VU did (with reed) is great...i think my fav. VU album is their ST 3rd one...although "..& Nico" is awesome...wonder what Nico is up to..if shes alive.

I like 'and Nico' best. That album is fucken fantastic. They're all good though. That track on 'White Light...' where the dude tells the story about the guy who sends himself to that biznitch in a box is just so indescribably rad.
