The situation in England ain't as bad as what it used to be, which I'm glad about, but it can still get pretty violent depending on who's playing; for example, Millwall or Cardiff, not sure if you've heard of them. If you ever get the chance, pick up "The Football Factory", "I.D.", or "Rise of the Footsoldier" to see what it used to be like at football games, pretty hectic fucking stuff.

All in all, though, it is pathetic for people to be doing this. Grown men fighting each other in the name of a football team who could care less about them? Lmfao. I don't mind them actually doing it, it's just when they involve innocent people who only wanna watch the game without some moron who can't fight for shit throwing stuff and acting like an idiot.
agreed, these fags as usually dont know shit but what happens in their own backjard.

football sometimes is just a platform for supporters. example in Italy look at Livorno, the fans follow a heavy socialist agenda. they get involved in many political activities, Livorno actually once went to Turkey to play a Turkish team in a friendly because that team also followed a socialist agenda. Lazio is the fascist team in Italy; Milan is the team of the middle-class Milanese, while Inter is the workers team.

when i went to watch my Turkish team play the stadium was full of anarchist signs, che guevera posters, and many political banners, like no nuclear power, basically communist shit (Armand Sickle would have loved it).

supporting a team aint just about watching a sport, in some countries its aligning yourself to a certain agenda. yes violence does follow this, couple years back 16 year old kid got killed in my teams stadium for having a keyring which was the colour of a rival team. violence is human nature, and when you have such a catalyst as sport it can erupt over the most unnecessary things.

Maybe they shouldn't allow so many people to over pack some of those stadiums and also have a greater amount of security there.

So is it about soccer or is it about politics?

Man, the day the US sports combine the game with politics is the day i stop watching...fuck that bullshit.

Its really just city and regional rivalries.

That would be pretty GHEY to go to a Baseball or Basketball game where Tea baggers literally threw tea-bags onto the court or field.

Meanwhile all the Green liberal puss bags would probably be chanting and tongue kissing on the opposing side..

    No thank you

the political thing is an example of what occurs mainly in southern europe. you wont see it in English or German football.

I had never heard of communists firms before, and I thought almost all the italian hooligans were fascists lol. In france hooligans almost totally disappeared, execpt in Paris, and in marseille cause they gotta defend themselves when paris comes.
But yeah politic is involved, for example for the PSG (paris club) there are two firms, one of racist retards, and the other one of immigrants and youth from the projects, so even tho they're on the same team, these firms fight each other. The last time a dude died even tho the PSG were the only one allowed to have supporters. So yeah, its about more than just sport cause a lot of frustrated people use it to relieve tension and all.

Nickytooth, of course I am excited for the new season for u of M, and yes, you guys have dominated the last ten years, but you OSU fans have short term memories, Remember the 90's, we owned you then, so it's cyclical. One thing that is true though is that we have to win at least 8 this year, or Rodriguez will be fired, and it will probably take another three years to recover from the last three.

We had the better teams and talent in the 90's though.

The 90's success for Michigan was hiding the fact that they have lacked in recruiting and have had a ton of 4 and 5 loss seasons.

I would say that both teams have had a lot of talent over the last twenty years. We have produced alot of NFL talent over the last twenty years. Every Qb from Henne back to Grbac has played major minutes in the NFL, and braylon, Toomer, Streets. We have had consistent top ten recruiting classes for the last twenty years. Up until the last couple of years we have been pretty even, you guys have had the better coach though for the last ten. I would just say that talent has been even.

how empty is your life when you want to kill someone over a game? absolutely pathetic and sad state of affairs. it happens here in states too, just not as extreme. its all just entertainment, dont take it so seriously.
