Default Doe or Die has more bangaz than Illmatic...

AZ's first album is better than Illmatic in my opinion. It has more bangaz in my opinion. How come AZ didn't blow up like Nas did? The industry is really fucked up.

"Pieces of a black man" is a dope album too. This guy deserves more props...

I think Pieces of a Black Man is a sick album, one of my favourites of 1998.

Its pretty hard to have more bangers than Illmatic because Illmatic has 10 bangers on it with a 100% rating since it has 10 tracks. Sure, Doe or Die has 12 tracks.

My opinion is Pieces of a Black Man is better than Doe or Die and can't believe it didn't go gold.

AZ is more consistent in my opinion. He's flow is incredible ! I'm a huge Nas fan, but he can be boring at times.

these threads are usually made by people who have either just found out about AZ or just heard Doe or Die... I remember TSA made a similar thread a while back, he probably just got put on himself, smh

Have mad respect for AZ and his first album but idk about that one. I feel AZ is mad underrated...like when I was at Rock the bells last year, AZ came out during Nas' performance and they did the song Affirmative action. Yo I was out of my seat throwin the middle finger in the air....after that dude just dissapeared didn't even say peace out.

That's true. An "AZ is underrated" thread comes up monthly and compare his work to Illmatic. Although those people never forget how dope AZ is, that phase usually passes.

As rappers AZ is the more conistent in his material, usually outdoing himself or at least keeping up with the same level.

Nas goes up and down but when hes up he's one of the greatest, sadly he has a problem maintaing the solid material, AZ never dissapoints and is an incredible writer, rapper and poet.

Doe or Die was good but not as good as illmatic, all in all AZ didn't drop a better album then illmatic, but dropped several better then the rest of Nas's mediocore albums.

I listen to AZ more becuase theres more good material not just a couple of albums, so in my case i would say AZ is better just for constantly outdoing himself and keeping you locked in to catch what he is saying.
