Probably the best release i've heard this year, still need to give it more spins though. Really consistent album, every track is great.

Yeah, this release is SOLID!
IMO there's no tracks worth of skipping - no filler material.
Very strong replay value

i'm gonna give this a proper review later but it's between this and "Distant Relatives" (two very different albums) as best album of the year so far. i always loved Roc's raw style on the mic, hardcore pimped out don lyrics deliveried with a smooth flow and plenty of multies. here he shows that, unlike most "artists" out there these days, he can hold an entire album down by himself in a true old school fashion.

Roc's production skills has evolved like crazy, besides the rhyming he handles every single beat on the disc and he aint fucking up once. the drums is so knocking it ain't even funny; even when the sample sounds chopped a little amateurish ("Panic", "Shoutro"), as soon as the drumbeat kicks in your neck will SNAP! this has a true old school flavor to it, and i mean that in the best way possible!!

His beats remind me of early Havoc in their simplicity.

Listen back to some of the classic MD beats, and they're essentially simplistic.

A lot of producers try and jam too many sounds into a beat, masquerading as some sort of soul/jazz/hip hop melange, when it just ends up sounding like shit.

The formula isn't hard to reproduce, Roc handling all the production was a great move because obviously he understands what it takes to make a solid, dope beat.

Great fucking album! Roc killed it on the production, classic 90s feel without sounding like some lame 'recreating the golden era'.. Cohesive, great rapping, 4.5 / 5..

Roc Marciano needs to send a copy of this to his old boss Busta Rhymes to let him know what he could have had. I seriously think that he would splatter his own brain all over the wall if he hears this and realizes how baldy he screwed up by letting him go.
