When I was @ Razor Sharp working on the Ironman LP, the Roots had a record release party in NYC.The club was right around the corner from the office @ University Place (I don't remember the name...but it was near the Toys R Us @ Union Sq), so I rolled to the party with 2 of my boys who worked @ TommyBoy Records at the time ( I had done promotions for TommyBoy for a time before I went to Wu full time).Anyway, were at the club, and my boy Scott nudges me and says "your'e boy ODB is here". I roll up to Dirty and I introduce him to Tyrone and Scott and we all kick it for a few.I then see some of the Roots crew ( I had just moved from Philly, and I knew the Roots before they dropped their first LP (they gave me a shout on the credits of the first lp),so it was all love.My boy Keith (who is still their manager),and I kicked it and I think it was Amir that I introduced Dirty too at the time. So, the Roots take the stage...and after a lil while they bring ODB to the stage and proceed to play "Brooklyn Zoo and Shimmy " live and ODB is kicking it on stage w them.Let's just say Dirty had been celebrating his release and was a bit drunk LOL !He starts going into a tirade on stage with the mic saying stuff about him being in prison etc... a few qoutes I do remember are "I just got out of Prison...and ya'll bitches KNOW you want to have my babies", I got 12 kiiiiiiiiiiiiids" LOL. After awhile,it got uncomfortable since Dirty didnt want to give up the mic, he wouldnt leave the stage...and this was the Roots release party ! I thought it was seriously going to get ugly,since everyone there see's whats going down (I think the Source magazine had an article about it back then).Finally Dirty gets off stage, and things go on...Dirtys gets outside and things go from bad to worse. He was rolling w 12 O Clock and some of his other boys, were all outside of the club...I don't know what had set it off...but there were a few cops nearby...and an arguement was going on ......I was kinda pissed @ Dirt to tell the truth since the Roots are my boys, and he had been a lil disrespectful to them (He was drunk though ).The cops kept telling ODB and the crew to move the Benz they were there in....I finally staight up told Dirty "you just got out of jail...you KNOW they want to lock you up again", after minutes of pleading with him and the crew...they roll out...with Dirty hanging out the window yelling @ the Cops " Brooklyyyyyn ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" lol

P.S.- I spoke to Tariq and Quest a few weeks later and apologized for Dirty's actions (Dirty didn't even remember doing it 2 days later when I had spoken to him about it),they said it was all Love ..but it's something we can laugh about now

LOL.. yeah i remember this story.. i heard it on Hot 97 couple days after it happened during the Wendy Williams segment.. you was actually there to witness it haha good stuff man and nuff respect for sharing your gems. peace.

I know alot of you have asked for more stories......I have been approached about doing a book on my experiences with promoting for the Wu and Hip-Hop Promotions in general..so I'll have to hold off on more of my Wu-tang experiences and stories for now. If I don't have RZA's and the Clan's ok on the book,and if it doesn't meet my standards...it won't happen.I don't want to be part of releasing some B.S. just to make some CREAM. sorry, G

Dont feel pressured in any way I just think we all tryna show love to whut u bringing to the forums and might come on as pressure from us but we just curious you know?
