Those synth sounds and melody he's using sounds weird, I think if that was taken out and replaced with something else it would match his style. I liked the intro part because it reminded me of old school hip hop.
Dre's known for the west coast gangsta funk sound, but I don't know, maybe he's trying ta redefine himself on this one. I like the sound and rhythm of the drums, that part still sounds like it's never left.

i dont mind the beat. it sounds like it could be fine tuned a bit more tho. it just sounds like a kraftwerk track kinda. he said they were influencing him a lot for this album.
hes just trying to go someplace no one else has been. pushing the limits. started the g-funk sound. chronic 01 didnt sound like anything else at the time. hes dr.dre so he doesnt want to sound like its on something else already around, he wants to expand the game. hes a trendsetter. idk if hes going to set a trend with this one, from the majority of responses, probably not, but i dont mind it too much.
