    I agree with thread starter.
Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.

They had some good beats here and there.

Some very shitty rappers who were intermittently amusing in small doses.

And a dick load of cheap cross promotional material.

They might be the best hip hop collective since wu i guess, i don't know if that's saying much though.

YA KNOW, I see a lot of people disagreeing with the thread starter...

What I dont see is anyone coming up with a better answer (or group)...

The one guy that did, named all groups from the 90s (the same era where the Wu dominated)...

No group/collective was better than Dipset in the 00s... No one dropped a better group album than Diplomatic Immunity 1... They could do all types of songs... Hardcore, commercial, party, bullshit, heartfelt, could rock any type of sample, any type of style, etc...

    Again, if not them, who???

    But... the Diplomats cry....

The best hip hop group of the last 17 years... is full of men who openly cry.

Hip hop got pretty heavy i guess.

like pat said they are, but that's not saying much, idk if bone thugs came right after wu's debut but if so then they are without question but right now yeah its diplomats.

dipset would be a lot better if 96% of their albums wasn't filler.

Let's try not to sway away from the music aspect. That's pretty weak.

Purple Haze is better than alot of albums these days.
