i weary of reading the racial musings of white people with agendas, so i just kind of skimmed the thread...movies are art, art should be the statement of an auteur, and not something contrived to appeal to a certain audience.

i love how racial threads are always filled with stupid generalizations..."black people prefer dumb movies"..."maybe a dozen black people watched amistad"...and so on.

maybe if people stopped treating different ethnic groups as monolithic mass organisms that all think the same and enjoy the same shit, we would have more diversity in the types of films that are out there.

Maybe if they didn't act like monolithic mass organisms, I wouldn't characterize them as such, but living in Florida and being of color, you more than anybody should recognize that blacks imitate the behavior of other blacks more than any other culture on the planet, that's why in general a black person's rims are more valuable than the rest of his car and 3/4 of his net wealth is hanging around his neck. I could be wrong though, I'm just a speculating racist nigger.

i'm not going to deny that there are alot of stupid and conformist black people who emulate what they see and hear in popular culture and conform to racial stereotypes, but isn't that true of every race?

it's tricky business generalizing entire races and cultures on the basis of...anything really. guess what? you notice the loud, flashy, ignorant black people with rims that conform to the stereotype because they are...loud, flashy and ignorant.
