Good hip hop legal download sites

Sites like iTunes and amazon.

Figured I should support my fav artists more, but iTunes doesnt sell songs in FLAC or even 320 I heard.

I would only use these type of sites if they sold songs in 320 and more importantly FLAC.

So anyone know any sort of dope sites like these that support these formats?

Try checking out Bandcamp, it's not a store or archive designed like Amazon or iTunes, it's more of a showcase for people's music with the option to download/listen/buy directly from the artist.

A few names I check out are

Black Milk - listen to his latest singles
Ras Kass - listen to A.D.I.D.A.S.
Fresh Daily
DJ K.O. - listen to his Living Out A State Of Mind series
methuzulah.bandcamp.com - listen to The Atlanta Posse Gangstarr Salute
donwill.bandcamp.com - donwill (of tanya morgan) listen to his The Sandwich Shop EP with Von Pea.


I like Bandcamp because if you look hard enough you can hear some new comers bringing fresh ideas to Hip Hop. You may find more up and coming artists than established artists there, so if it's a larger music project you may be better off going to iTunes or Amazon.

I keep a store of legal Amazon.com and iTunes downloads here: http://cratesofjr.blogspot.com/p/store.html, I see not many blogs organize the latest Hip Hop releases for people in this way so I decided to create it.

Then after those, try checking out if your favorite artists have music up on Soundcloud. I was glad to see Inspectah Deck and Stones Throw records have accounts.

if you want to support someone, go & buy the cd /vinyl/tape watever. then you can rip the cd 320 kpbs or flac, plus when your computer crashes, you still have it.
rapstream.net is a good site, they have many 320 kbps and even some flac.
(as far as i know, downloading music isnt illegal, only spreading it around. thats why rapidshare, megaupload & shit ale not illegal but torrent, limewire & bearshare is, because while you download there, you upload it too)

yeah im gonna start buying CD's. no point now atm, my speakers are busted so im getting a new pair of speakers for my pc for university then i will buy the CD's.
i prefer the physical aspect of CD's.
