No, I think we need to learn from mistakes and pretending bad things didn't happen doesn't make them go away. You have to understand what caused them and then educate people about why that path will be lined with the burning bodies of genocide.
As a White Teen:
1.) Have I ever been to prison? No
2.) Have I ever been arrested? Yes
3.) Have I ever been harassed by the police for nothing? Yes.
4.) Have I ever been accused of stealing, selling drugs, or being a thug? Yes.
5.) Have I ever been judged by my PEOPLE about being something that I'm not? Yes.
6.) Do random people think that I'm stupid just because I'm an African-American male? N/A.
7.) Did I attend college? I will be.
8.) Have I ever done drugs or drink alcohol? Yes.
Sometimes I almost regret it. I lost a lot of potential. I could have been one of the top students at my school and done more extra-curricular stuff. I could be Ivy Leagues or something and I'm probably going to end up at a Public school. Nothing wrong with it but I could have tried harder. But I look at some of the people around me and its crazy. I've got some kids who are on a path for the real shit and some kids who are screwed. I think part of the problem is my parents didn't force me on a path so its always been on my shoulders. But the problem is while I'm glad I had the freedom to choose what I want to do I find myself a chronic poor decision maker.
But back to the topic at hand I think the problem goes deeper then the black community because I don't think there is a real difference. We need a system that ensures freedom with security for everyone. Law and Order do not allow for freedom or security. I was reading Oscar Wilde talking about socialism and he made some great points. Socialism takes a huge burden off of the individual. Its no longer "Me against the World" it becomes "What do I want to do." Wilde says that we spend our whole lives trying to establish ourselves as successful and we weren't really alive at all. His appeal to my Epicurean tastes may be more idealogical than pragmatic but its something to think about. What good is it for a man to gain the world and lose his soul? Jesus was probably a communist or something like it.
Essentially if I'm concerned with capital I'm going to end up in a nice house with my true love miles away with her husband while my much younger new wife bitches and cheats on me, my kids hate me because I'm not part of their lives, and I leave the world a worse place than I found it because I was greedy. Greed is good for capitalism. But Greed is not good for society. Our society is not sustainable. We have crime because no one gives a shit about each other because they're too busy trying to make money and its a losing battle. Parents didn't learn morals so they can't teach them. Kids end up with no guidance because we're so caught up on "freedom" and "friendship" that parents can't raise offspring.

I don't know what's going on. I'm constantly hearing that companies are very hesitant to hiring African-American men because of obvious reasons. I'm starting to lose hope. Did I waste my time in college? If I were white, would things be different for me?
I understand that millions of people are enduring the samething that I am but damn! Hopefully, I will be able to obtain employment by the end of this month. I know it's a gamble but I'm praying.
