That's plenty of money for speakers.

For computer speakers look at Creative and Logitech's range, there are other brands too.

    ^^this.

get a home theatre system aka surrond sound system.

just hook it up to your computer and tv and dvd player ("most come with built in dvd players)

but get one with a powerful amp to make sure you have bass and set up the speakers in the corners of the room.

    you will love that shit.

if your trying to buy computer speakers, you hsould be spending no more than $50.

dude's asking for hip hop speakers not a home theater set up
dont waste that kinda monay on pc speakers cuz no matter how much you spend on em they all suck
    home theater systems suck too
those kinda tiny med. speakers are not build to handle hip hop hence thay all start rattling at some point

if youve got an amp/receiver you can get a pair of decent speakers (lets say like these http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Pioneer+...&skuId=1147998)

a receiver + 2 speakers/monitors is the best choice for any kind of music

if you dont have one then youd be better off buying some headphones: you can get some high end AKGs, Sennheisers or Beats

if i were you id probably get some $100-150 earbuds cuz they're noise isolating
i have some cheap $50 AKG earbuds hooked to my wUpod and they sound phenomenal

i use them for my music - hook it up to my computer and ipod

my homeboy use to use it for his ps3

they also sell home computer monitors in the other section which run a little cheaper but you sacrifice some performance quality. i heard it helps to buy a small EQ so you can tweak them.

i'm a complete technical idiot so when you guys throw around terms like home theater i'm already shuddering... anyway i'll look into it. i'm really ready to spend on this because I see myself using it for at least three years.

I'm using dre's Beats earphones btw. to have a sound system equivalent to that on my cpu would be sweeeet
