Just saw the first ep and it was fucking awesome. GORY AS FUCK for tv anyway, I honestly didn't expect it to be as raw as it was, it's up there George Romero's dead flicks with the gore. I can't wait till ep 2.

I'm going to wait to catch it in HD, but I heard there are new characters in it that are kind of annoying...what do you think?

(I'm about halfway through the Compendium of the first 48 issues, and it's probably one of the best series I've read)

In the first ep there aren't any new characters. It pretty much follows the first couple of issues of the comic where Rick wakes up in the hospital and then makes his way to atlanta, although they did pad it out more with some more characterisation which I thought worked really well. It gave more insight to some of the characters from the comic that had a much smaller role intitially.

As for the comics themselves they are brilliant. Im up to book 5 which is up to issue 60, book 6 will be out at the end of this month and I can't wait.

ya, it's mainly the characterization is really well done...it's the only thing of his i've read other than some of his marvel stuff, which i didn't like.

i just watched a mini series called Dead Set on IFC.

really fucked up, disturbing, and brutal zombie show set in britain.

this is the way zombies should be shown.

zombies movies have to condense everything down into like 2 hours. there's not much room for character development or emotional connection to the characters. in movies, most of the time they're more or less just food for zombies, not much feeling when someone is eaten.

it was pretty dope...the fx were good for a tv show...some of the zombies are cool looking story is dope...looks like it is something i will keep watching..cant wait till the next ep
