Its not to do with it being the 80s either, theres tonnes of films from that that are still funny. this wasnt funny. it was corny.

Comedies from the 80's were the thing. Ferris's sidekick was recently in the mysterious Persons Unknown, which was a pretty good show.

And? Its just based off their youthful looks why they get highschool roles, that trend continues to this day. Super Bad for example (Jonah Hill) or that badass white girl from the MTV show RJ Berger, yeah she's 29!!. If you just LOOK like you can pass as a student you can get a role like that.
