I'm not going to say much sorry. All I'm going to drop is go listen to Freak Out. It's a tight record. Frank Zappa is a little off so some people don't really like him. But I dig his style.
Hot Rats is a bad-ass album, completely instrumental and very often amazing

I sampled the song on my page called "take one" from a song that Eric(visions Unseen) sent me from Frank Zappa.
I might do another.
Freak Out, Uncle Meat, & We're Only In It For The Money.
Frank Zappa destroys.
all essential:
We're Only in it For the Money
Uncle Meat
Hot Rats
Weasels Ripped my Flesh
Burnt Weeny Sandwich
Grand Wazoo
Waka/Jawaka
One Size Fits All
Joe's Garage
Yellow Shark
Hot Rats is amazing.
I never really checked for Zappa based on his whole comedic lyrics shtick, but man, Hot Rats is a really great record...awesome music executed by immensely talented musicians.
a lot of zappa's music is instrumental. grand wazoo, waka/jawaka, yellow shark, burnt weeny sandwich, weasels ripped my flesh and uncle meat are all mostly instrumental. he has a bunch of other instrumental albums too. if you like hot rats, listen to grand wazoo immediately.
as for his lyrics, as time went on, the comedic shit did get too "schticky" and sometimes really fucking stupid. but his lyrics on all the original mothers of invention albums are good.
