Default What do you know about 'Soursop leaves'?

    Soursop leaves:

-leaves of the soursop tree (guanábana in spanish)
-good for it's tranquilizing and sedative properties
-are said to be good for diabetes problems
    -
There are phytochemicals in the leaves, seeds and stem of the guanabana which are cytotoxic against various types of cancer cells.
    -
Tea of the leaves is used against edgy nerves, hypertension with nervousness.

It is from the soursop tree grown in the caribbean, central and south america. When I was in Jamaica last year, my grandmother had some soursop trees, so I dried them (some leaves) in the sun, and took them back home.

It is good for teas. It has a sweet smell when you boil it.

This is what the fruit looks like:

I have fam in Jamaica and when I visited them in 07, my mom showed me the soursop tree and said the leaves could be made into a tea. My uncle co-signed her and said the leaves are good for it's calming affect.

We pulled some leaves from the tree, rinsed them, and let them dry in the sun. Then we bagged them and took them home when we left Jamaica.
