My signature holds a picture of General Tarik ibn Ziyad.

In 711 he commanded an army of 10,000 men. They crossed the straits and disembarked near a rock promontory which from that day since has borne his name--Djabal Tarik (`Tarik's Mountain'), or Gibraltar. In August 711, he won paramount victory over the opposing European army. On the eve of the battle, he is alleged to have roused his troops with the following words:

"My brethren, the enemy is before you, the sea is behind; whither would ye fly? Follow your general; I am resolved either to lose my life or to trample on the prostrate king of the Romans."

I have a friend named Tarik that gave up his commission in the Army after finding out that we (Black people in America) are the decendents of the Moors.

I say again ... real fire is always fueled from raw emotion. I know that I draw and write some of my best pieces when I'm going through something. Even though it's obvious that you're dealing with some very real issues you still have the power to create. A truer Poet cannot be found for me than you at this moment. I feel you pain fam, and as always ... I gottcha back as well as a virtual/physical shoulder to lean on if ever you need one. Keep your head up, and ...

We aight now I guess
We build and try to digress
Everyone has problems but you can't run away from them all
Right now we talk communicate and crawl
To get to our destination
Although sometimes it's hard to have conversations
We've bonded so we gotta work to keep it together
Otherwise we'll just fall and go for whatever
It's hard sometimes to do the right thing
But as long as it's a peaceful song we sing
We'll at least be headed in a right-ous path
I do the math
And try to keep her in the loop of where we're going
Just like right now my time is steadily flowing
When I can be talking to her
So let me go so we can really get this thing back together

when you do your research let me know if you come across any info on when the moors conquered spain for i think 400 or 700 yrs....

Um sure the moors, particularly the one in your pic was a muslim....?
