RZA just has that unique sound that appeals to so many of us and i honestly think alot of his stuff is more creative and original compared to Primo who just knows how to make a really ill beat.

Like someone mentioned Glaciers of Ice, thats one of my favorite beats ever, I dont know what the fuck RZA sampled but it has that crazy dark sound to it. Primo has some of my favorite beats ever too like NY State of Mind, Mass Appeal, and Represent which are just phenomal, hard ass beats. Primo has an amazing ear and ability to take samples and completely flip them like with what he did with Represent. But i feel like Primo works with in a certain set of rules where RZA works outside the box to create his unique sound (the Wu sound). His classic material (36 chambers to Forever) just hits me on a different level compared to what any other producer has done.

RZA easily on creativity alone wins by a mile not even counting his versatility he can produce anything he wants no album produce by him sounds similar to another he is so skilled that his even scoring movies no i repeat no producer has gone that far but no body recognize that.

The only thing Premo got over RZA is consistency and thats it everything else RZA is better ppl always say Premo like is the right thing to say just cuz everybody else say so

can you imagine yourself behind the boards making Cuban Link or Liquid Sword that amount of shit it most take to make those albums

premo is a dope dope producer he is consistant and pretty much always drops the ill beats... i like both rza and premo but im gonna say rza is slightly better because his best beats i like more than premo`s plus he could rock the mic back in the day also premo gets kinda boring from time to time as you tend to know what to expect from a premo beat.... but he at least he doesnt really have any wack beats unlike the rza.

    peace be with you !

No question, Rza is the G.O.A.T, but Premo is close to him. Premo gets the formula to make dope beats when he wants but his job lacks something, sometimes he doesn't take risks at all. He is better than 99.99% of hip hop producers but the Rza is an (illegal) alien in the hip hop game. Rza gets his own chamber, he is clearly ahead of his time. He builds things for the future generations. He wants to take risks every time. I think he needs that to stay alive so he is quite unique.

^^ wow, Preemo's track sheet is pretty fucking amazing.. besides the Gang Starr joint he has produced 2 classic albums for Jeru The Damaja that's rather brilliant and his work on Group Home's first LP was equally dope. besides that and his full LP for Blaq Poet this year he has laced bangers and classics for anyone from Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie, M.O.P., KRS-One, Showbiz & AG, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Kool G Rap, Lord Finesse, Large Professor, Brand Nubian, Snoop Dogg, Lady of Rage, Fat Joe, D.I.T.C, Big L, CNN, Freddie Foxxx, Cormega, etc, etc, etc, etc... basically any rapper worth mentioning wanna rock a Preemo beat.

No disrespect! Man, you 27 and still does not know what Primo has produced outside of Ganstarr ? You must be a Rock fan or something cause a real Hip-hop fan would know. I don't feel like you anything at this moment. Do your homework & find out

i can agree about "Wrath of the Math", that's a personal classic for me though but "The Sun Rises in the East" is definitely a hip-hop classic.

Preem any day over RZA. I mean any day for me. To me Preem is the only producer in hip-hop that can make any MC sound dope when he is at his best. RZA's beats don't do that.

for me, this is basically deciding who is the illest producer ever because they hold the top two spots for me

ill soon do my homework. i only favored hip hop as my number one music genere for about 5 years. im slowly coming along wit the program. before that hip hop was like in the middle. i was more in to sonic youth and indie rock
