Things I remember:
Dude gets killed by punji stakes (that's what the boobytrap is called).
People are shooting at them while they're on a boat on a river and they get to land asap.
A helicopter flies over but doesn't see them.
I believe that at some point some of them refuse to follow their leader (not sure about that one).
It might not even be a vietnam movie though, I remember seeing rednecks although that might be another movie. I don't think the U.S. army ever fought against rednecks lol.
I'm going to watch platoon tonight to see if that's it. But I don't think there are punji stakes in Platoon.

Apocolypse Now is one of the greatest movies by far. If you like that, you should peep hearts of darkness, documentary on the making of the film. there's also a documentary called hearts and minds, that was filmed a little bit after the war, shits coo.
