Street was fine, but yea Tar Pit needed 2 Generals on it. Deck and GZA would have slayed it, pretty much any of them would have. Cappa was good on Windmill, i didnt really like him on Campfire and Tar Pit.

Weak Spot boring? what??? i could understand thinking that about Gun Will Go, Sunlight or one of the other slower tracks, but thats an official Wu Banga

the beat again has a very slow progression and honestly doesnt have much going on with it, its real slow and laid back like beautiful rock said.. you like what you like about it as i do but by every definition its thin and yes boring

people are nuts tho lol! when thea was the talk of the town, i mean she has an undeniable talent, but cats werent feelin the style so they got their pitchforks and torches and brought up her physical appearance and shit like that because they of course had to say something, ANYTHING to bring her down, as they always do.

the difference with me hating 8 diagrams is, it doesnt really have the talent or creativity we've come to expect, especially from the wu tang clan i mean if one of the random producers here found that odd sounding sample on rushing elephants and made that exact track with like nova kane or some cat rapping on it with holocaust it would the the unwiped anus of every joke and thats probably the truest thing i'll say this week.

RZA was mos def on some other shit w/ 8 Diagrams. There were a couple of songs where the beat was just not great but the lyrics carried it. Other than that a solid release. Now with the reaction to Rea's last cd I am pretty sure that whenever a nw does drop it is going to be up there with the W.

Tar Pit was fucked up by George Clinton
Thug World was fucked up by RZA

This album is just full of RZA failures....

I think the same, unmastered version is a 5 star classic but album version was fucked up, no scratches, changed sounds volumes....

It was one of the best albums of 2008, and 3rd best clan album.

it's not without it's flaws but still a very, very good album in my opinion. from the first time i bumped it when it leaked i fucking loved it, and despite what many felt this album felt alot more "Wu-Tang" to me than "Iron Flag" and more or less every solo release between that and this. beats and samples were raw and gritty and it had a nice mix of slow-grinding joints and Wu bangers.

"Rushing Elephants" sounds incredible to me, you don't have to go all advanced to make a banging beat and listening to Wu-Tang should tell you that. i mean just listen to "C.R.E.A.M." which is recognized as one of Wu's absolute finest moments, that's more or less a straight loop but that what was right for that particular track. if RZA would've messed around more with it, he would've fucked it up probably.

the main thing about the album that could've been changed for the better i think is that there were too much ego involved this time around. RZA, Raekwon and Ghostface seems to have the biggest ego's of the group and they all definitely can be on some bullshit. Ghostface not apperaing on "Life Changes" is close to an unforgivable mistake imo, if you gonna use guest singers get someone good not fucking TASH MAHOGANY and Sunny Valentine like WTF?? "Sunshine" doesn't fit the album at all, and the original version of "Heart Gently Weeps" with the sample intact was fucking GULLY where as the LP version doesn't work all that well.

still, this is a real ALBUM that plays from first to last track perfectly, great sequencing and very nicely arranged - and i think alot of the generals brought their A-game (Ghost killed the few spots he had, U-God, Method Man plus Raekwon and MK sounded like they've been doing lately; GZA, INS was 50/50 dope and 50 Ass imo and RZA should've sticked with the beats). 4/5 easily

I loved the album since the first time a played it. My only real complaint is like Claaa7 said Ghost not being on life changes is really fucked up. If I would have anything changed on the disc I would add Watch you Mouth cuz they needed a posse cut. and I would have ended the disc with Life Changes after Stick me for my riches, the last few songs dont really do much for me, there not wack by any means but they dont have the same hypeness as the rest of the album.

there were a few mistakes and rza is to blame for them as much as i would like to think otherwise

he overproduced unpredictable. i can understand not clearing the samples, the added percussion was cool but the gtr was not hot

i loved wolves but then i heard the sample version and i couldnt get back into it

hear gently weeps was cool. people hate on the album version too much\

tar pit was ruined by clinton

more rappers shoulda been on campfire

too many songs with strict repeating loops like elephants w/ bad hooks like starter

but the sound of the album as i think rza was going for is something that rap is missing. campfire, stick me, gun will go, get em out my way pa.. those beats are dark like 95 wu. thats why i like the cd still

stick me was a good gamble

rza overproduced, rza fucked up the album, rza should stick to producin, blah, blah blah... i have no problem people not liking 8 diagrams, its grown mans hip-hop... but people tellin a legend how to produce, fuck a legend the best there ever was, is rediculous... im sure that shit sounded exactly the way rza wanted, well exactly how he wanted after he changed things for rae's crying ass. U might not feel it & thats fine, but till u got a catalog of classics stfu on the overproducing, u aint produced shit. 8 shits all over the w & iron flag

Bar a few tracks 8D was dope, shat all over Iron Flag and imo is better than The W, tho i prefer The W's more authentic sound.
