Default wu-tang's greatest achievements in music & pop culture

    * invented Hardcore Rap (before the Wu, Kool G. Rap was the most "hardcore" dude)

    * perfected Gangsta Rap (Only Built 4 Cuban Linx)

    * spread the 5% Nation of Islam teachings to a broader audience

    * brought underground hip-hop into mainstream (plainum after platinum)

    * took over G-Funk with moody, gritty beats (there'd be no Mobb Deep, Onyx or JMT)

    * changed the way people talk and used slang (5% Nation of Islam / Dunn language)

    * changed the way people dressed (more baggy, Wallabees, Islamic-related)

    * ended Mase's career (Ghostface fucked up his jaw)

    * perfected the standard for what a hip-hop group should be

    * best posse cuts ever recorded; no hooks, no chorus

    * created the greatest sequel in hip-hop history (Cuban Linx II)

all in all, the two biggest changes they made was how to create gritty beats and spreading Islamic teachings

biggest influence was the concept of group members having solo albums on different labels and go back and forth from group to solo albums, never done before

basically, their greatest achievement is gang-raping of music industry. they did that like a bunch of viking savages during the middle ages.

yo their single biggest achievement was the group deal with the ability for each artist to sign their own solo deal with any label they wanted. that shit was GROUNDBREAKING and completely changed everything within the hip hop industry.

it used to be you would sign, as a group, to the label, and be stuck (see A Tribe Called Quest). but the way Wu-Tang did it, with that brilliant contract negotiation, they were able to create those 93-97 years that everyone still dickrides like a mafucka specifically because they went separate ways for solo deals, which without that ability, would have NEVER allowed for all those solo albums to drop so close to each other. THAT is the most important thing they have ever done for and in hip hop

hhahaah wtf no mobb deep or onyx???? mobb deep's first album dropped a year or 2 before enter the wu-tang and onyx signed to jmj in like 1991 the fuck you talkin bout? started dunn language??? you're not serious. the word dunn was started by a dude in mobb deep's entourage with a speech impediment they used it as slang cause they thought it sounded cool. you think gritty hardcore hiphop started in 1993 with wu-tang? you never heard of redman? other then posse cuts like protect your neck that are on wu-tang clan albums none of their posse cuts made an impact on hiphop like "the symphony" or "the scenario remix". you must be young and found hiphop in 1998 and think 1993 was the stone age of hiphop

"you ain't gonna find 9 ill niggas like this ever again until the next millennium"

Raekwon. ok, so maybe he was exaggerating just a bit lol, but every single member could rap. they did so much to change hip-hop, from beats to lyrics to fashion to teachings. there's never going to be another group like this again. wu-tang owned hip-hop from 93-98

-there is no other hip-hop group with 9 members, where at least 6 of them are major hip hop artists on their own.

ghostface killah, raekwon, gza and method man are often mentioned in the top10 mcs of all time, the rza is considered as arguably the best hip hop producer etc.

-they brought hardcore hip hop to the masses, no noubt about that.

    - they HAVE the best posse cuts.(triumph, 7 th chamber pt.2, 4th chamber, guillotine, protect ya neck etc...) No other group has posse cuts on that level, end of story.

-they´ve made artists clothing lines popular with wu-wear

    -perfected gangsta rap with OB4CL

    - from 93 to 97 they had the best production, all albums during this period were classics

They made best selling alternative rap album ever,

what album with the same level of grittiness and overall rawness sold diamond

they didn't invent hardcore rap, but they sure populized it most.

And for sure they have most interesting nicknames and debut album name
